About SACT & Dhalia Steinitz
Specialized, affirming care for sexuality, intimacy, trauma, and relationships
If you’ve been searching for a therapist who truly understands the complexity of sexual concerns, intimacy challenges, trauma, or attachment patterns—and who can offer skilled, compassionate support—you’re in the right place. At SACT, we provide the specialized care that is too often missing in traditional mental health services.
Why I Founded SACT
I’m Dhalia Steinitz, a psychotherapist with a deep commitment to helping individuals and couples feel truly seen and supported in areas that matter most.
Early in my training, I noticed a persistent gap: many people struggled to find therapists confident and knowledgeable enough to address sexuality, intimacy, trauma, and relational patterns without judgment or minimization. SACT was born from the desire to change that—to create a welcoming space where complexity is expected, care is tailored to you, and these essential parts of well-being are taken seriously.
My Background & Approach
Raised by two physicians, I grew up valuing dedication, humility, and lifelong learning—principles that guide everything I do.
My professional journey includes:
- Undergraduate studies in Sexuality Studies and Psychology (University of Western Ontario)
- MACP masters of counselling psychology from Yorkville University
- Clinical training in specialized couples therapy clinics focused on attachment and communication
- Trauma-focused practicum work and frontline support at Victim Services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault
I specialize in evidence-based approaches that get results:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – Certified; the gold-standard for couples, rooted in attachment science to repair bonds and create lasting security
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Compassionate, non-pathologizing work with internal parts carrying shame, protection, or old patterns
- Trauma-informed & attachment-based care – Helping you build internal and relational safety
- Queens Faculty of Medicine: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) – Certified; addressing sleep as a key part of overall mental and relational health
My Hope for You
Whether you’re an individual navigating personal challenges or a couple wanting deeper connection, my goal is simple: for you to feel respected, emotionally safe, and matched with care that truly fits. When people feel seen and supported, meaningful change becomes possible.
